Exodus 1413And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
You’ve made decisions. You said, ‘That’s it, I’m leaving this world behind. The Lord has called and I’ve answered.’ You went out with joy and were led with peace. But what’s this? The enemy pursues? A vast army is assembled behind you and looks to crush you?
First, fear not. Why? You are built upon a rock.
24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. (Matthew 7)
Once you have been established upon the rock, you are unmovable. Despite the strength of the army assembled against you. Despite the might of the storm. Despite the voracity of the waves. You are established.
Second. Stand still. Watch and see the salvation of the Lord.
Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
You are a light shining to others. You are a star brightly burning in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. And now you must stand fast. Do your duty like a man. Be strong.
