Stir up to love

Hebrews 10:22Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.  23Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)  24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:  25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Hebrews 10: 24And let us consider and give [d]attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities, (Amplified Bible)

Proverbs 17 22A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Yesterday I wrote about God singing over us and encouraging us in our daily walk with Him.  Today I’d like to encourage you to rejoice over your fellow believers.  There is so much skepticism and distrust amongst believers, so much division and dissension, that rarely do we stop and see that we are on the same team.   But we are.

And because we are meant to be one body, it behooves us to spur one another on, to speak life into the lives of those around us. There is something praiseworthy in the life of every believer, and you should endeavor to find it.

Find what God says about people and then just repeat it to them.  Tell them they are wonderfully made Psalm 139.  Tell them God has a good plan for them (Jeremiah 29).  Tell them they are blessed (Ephesians 1).  And tell them they are loved (all over the Word).

Your words will be life to those around you: so speak it, shout it, sing it.   This is an expression of the love of Christ inside of you pouring out like a river to those precious saints who are in need of a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

I urge you to find someone today ( a spouse, a child, a friend, an enemy, a stranger), and speak life to them.  Love them.  Wash away the world’s grime with the fresh water of your words.   Let your words carry Jesus to someone, and watch them be like a medicine to their heart.

Feel free to post your experiences and thoughts.  Be blessed and abide in Him.

  1. Luke says :

Yo! Good words. This thought came to me earlier and it just seems to fit: God showed us his love by giving us Jesus. Now we can give others Jesus by showing them love. Be patient to someone and by doing so offering them the Son of God.
