The Mouth of the Lion
2 Timothy 417Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
Ephesians 612For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
John 10:10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Somehow you found yourself alone. Cut off from the herd. Emotionally. Physically. Spiritually. You are separated. Busyness crept in. Worry gained a foothold. The pressure of life weighed down. Lust of other things distracted you.
And like a lion, seeking to steal, the enemy came.
You may be there now, with the maw of the lion clutching your neck, seeking to strangle the very life of God out of you, knowing that if he can hold on long enough you will abandon hope. Maybe it is your finances, or your relationships, or your health. Maybe his stranglehold is on your future, or maybe it’s on your thoughts. But slowly the enemy saps the strength from your soul.
Christian, the Lord stands with you! Seek to drown the devil through the Word and watch as he has no choice but to release you from his deadly grip.
Get in the Word of truth and grace, letting it wash over your soul, restoring you, bringing vitality and fresh hope!
