Colossians 2:1 “For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh; ”
Many of us know how easy it would be to drift into the lax conformity of the world. We realize the lack of struggle in mediocrity. We understand that we could wait for Heaven, and in the meantime settle for the weak and beggarly elements of this world. But our realization is exactly what makes us responsible for continuing on this journey.
We do not fight and war and sacrifice because it is more comfortable. We do not abandon worldly plans or paths of success because we are fools. No. We willingly forsake all for this: God was in Christ bringing the world back to Himself, and that good news has been entrusted to us. There are those who have yet to hear of this great love, of this great mystery, of this great promise.
My great conflict, and yours if you fight alongside of me, is for them that have yet to hear and taste and see the fullness of Almighty God. My life and comfort are but small prices to pay in such a great endeavor. Whatever the cost, we must press on.
Prepare your hearts and your hands. There are those who we must fight for, because they know not how to fight for themselves
