Hebrews 3:1″ Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,
Christ Jesus; ”
I don’t know how it creeps in, but it does, the silent pride that makes us assume we’ve discovered the depth of who Christ is and what He’s done for us. We are puffed up with knowledge and yet we really haven’t scratched even the surface of who we are, what we possess and who we possess.
Can we stop and consider Christ? For a moment let us sit still and ask Christ to reveal himself more fully to us, not as we want Him to be or as we picture Him to be, but rather, as He truly is. Most of our misunderstandings and confusions come from a poor understanding of Christ.
My prayer is this:
Lord, we desire truly to know you in your fullness, as much as our mortal minds may fathom, as deep as our hearts can recieve. We long not for merely establishing of institution, but for the unveiling of your great person. If in this world we are meant to represent you, then we must fully know You. May we take time daily to sit at your feet and learn from you, the Apostle and High Priest of this faith we so readily profess.
